Dancing with the Stars does Dance of Love Again?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Most popular reality shows have plenty of on-screen hookups, but the relationships don’t seem to last once the cameras are off. That’s not the case for Dancing with the Stars – the matches made here are actually continuing in “real life”!

dancing with the stars winners helio castroneves julianne hough

The most recent example comes from last night’s season 5 finale, with racecar driver Helio Castroneves and partner Julianne Hough taking home the trophy. The couple has been causing raised eyebrows all season, as their sensual moves and obvious chemistry left us wondering if they had a real life romance going on. They haven’t made it official yet, but Helio did abruptly end his year long engagement with jewelry designer Aliette Vazquez…

Helio and Julianne are in good company if the rumors are true – in May of 07, it was reported that TV star Mario Lopez and his dance partner, Karina Smirnoff, officially moved in together! Things didn’t fare as well for another rumored couple from that season – singer Willa Ford and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were strictly business. Willa’s November 06 engagement to hockey star Mike Modano officially dispelled the rumors that her and Maksim were dancing off stage as well!

dancing with the stars sabrina bryan mark ballas

Perhaps the younger set will fare better? Disney Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan is still paired with her dancer, Mark Ballas, after a surprising early elimination weeks ago. Fans had suspected that love was in the air, and there was no denying it once cameras glimpsed them after they were ousted. Sabrina called Mark “baby”, and he responded with “I love you”. Now, the twenty somethings are an official item, so we’re guessing they aren’t too broken up over the elimination!

What’s the moral of this story? Dancing with the Stars gives us plenty of celebrity dirt to dish, so keep an eye out for the next reality-show-turned-real-life couple!

“I’m Not Obsessed” Impressed with Emitations Ring!

Monday, November 26th, 2007

The celebrity gossip and pictures blog, I’m Not Obsessed (INO) has taken a fancy to our Paris Hilton Inspired CZ Engagement Ring. We sent out the ring as part of our “Naughty & Nice Bling” holiday presents, and Vera had nothing but good things to say about the “naughty” present she received!

“So I got a little holiday gift package from Emitations, a really fun online jewelry store. CHECK OUT THIS RING! I ripped it out of the box, took my engagement ring off and threw that sucker right on. My husband happened to be home and standing right next to me and he asked what I was doing. I told him I was going to wear this ring from now on instead of the one he gave me and we almost got a divorce. SOOOOOO I am now going to give it away to an INO reader in hopes that this will somehow un-insult him. hahahahha Anyone interested? And yes… it’s huge!”

If you’d like to participate in this contest, or just check out some hot celebrity gossip and/or super stylish celeb fashion features, check out INO!

Exclusive Replica of the Hope Diamond Necklace!

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Emitations is proud to offer an exclusive new piece: a gorgeous replica of the incredibly famous Hope Diamond! Surrounded by mystery and myth, this iconic gem has been revered since the days of Louis XIV. Our stunning CZ replica version has all of the glam of the original – but without the supposed curse that haunts the Hope Diamond.

Most agree that the diamond was originally found by Jean Baptiste Tavernier, a French merchant who traveled through India. Some legends claim that he stole it from an ancient Hindu idol, who then cursed anyone who touched his pilfered treasure. The diamond traveled through history from there: sometimes gifted, sometimes stolen, and always a coveted item.

It has been noted as the source of all kinds of bad luck – the beheading of King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette, the gambling debts of Britain’s King George IV, and the lonely unmarried life of Henry Phillip Hope, who inherited the blue diamond in the early 1800s. Nearly every member of the Hope family is rumored to have died in poverty, which led to the sale of the (officially titled) Hope Diamond in 1901.

Shortly thereafter, the famous jeweler Pierre Cartier found a potential buyer in Mrs. Evalyn Walsh McLean. She reportedly believed that objects considered “bad luck” always gave her extra goodluck, so Cartier made sure to embellish the history of the haunted Hope Diamond. Despite her confidence, she was struck by one tragedy after another throughout the rest of her years.

Evalyn’s first born son died in a car crash when he was nine years old, her 25 year old daughter committed suicide, and her husband was institutionalized and declared legally insane. Despite these facts, Evalyn kept her faith in the Hope Diamond, and she wanted it to stay in the family. Unfortunately, like many of the diamond’s other owners, she was impoverished at the time of her death. The diamond was sold again, to pay off her debts, and this time famed jeweler Harry Winston took ownership.

In 1958, Winston donated the necklace to the Smithsonian, where it instantly became a premier exhibit. Visitors from around the world can still visit it today, albeit from behind a solid, bulletproof glass safe. It still generates plenty of pop culture references – take, for instance, the infamous “Coeur de la Mer” necklace from Titanic. The real Hope Diamond was never on board the fated ship (though it does share a similar supposed curse), but the character of Rose was nonetheless given a “heart of the ocean” necklace that was said to be created from the original blue diamond.

No one is fortune (or unfortunate!) enough to wear the Hope Diamond now, but luckily Emitations.com now offers a dazzling faux version! Don’t forget to shop the matching earrings as well…

Jessica Simpson Inspired Engagement Ring!

Friday, November 9th, 2007

You asked, and we listened! In response to multiple customer requests, we’re now offering a faux version of Jessica Simpson’s engagement ring!

It’s been a few years since the Newlyweds split up, but there’s still a huge demand for the engagement ring that Nick Lachey gave Jessica Simpson! Post-divorce, Jess wore it on a chain around her neck, but before that it was one of the most talked about engagement rings in Hollywood.

Our faux version is every bit as dazzling, but at a fraction of the cost. A sparkling 4 carat, pear cut CZ diamond is framed by 1 carat pear cut stones on either side. Prong set in sterling silver, this beauty brings out the celebrity in all of us…

Check out some of the requests we’ve had for this ring:

“Do you have Jessica Simpson’s old engagement ring?” – Paola, 10/14/07

“I heard about this company in a magazine! I am looking for a replica of the Jessica Simpson wedding set!” – Diane, 10/17/07

“Do you still have, or can you get Jessica Simpson’s wedding set?” – Joy, 10/30/07

“I love your website! I know they’re divorced now, but do you have a replica of Jessica Simpson’s engagement ring from Nick? I know if I get it from you it will be high quality…” – Taylor, 11/2/07

Stella McCartney Gets Literal Leg Up on Heather Mills…

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

By creating a pendant that mocks Heather’s amputed leg! Read more below:

page six richard johnson stella mccartney

Page Six reported that fashion designer Stella McCartney delivered a low blow to her former step-mother Heather Mills. Their relationship never seemed all that great, especially with Mills spouting off insults to a multitude of media outlets recently. Last week (on live television, no less!), Mills ranted:

“I can’t protect her any longer. She wasn’t interested in her dad’s happiness. Every week she tried to break up my marriage to Paul. She’s done some evil, evil things. She scraped my face out of a photo when they were in a psychiatric session together.”

In response, Stella leaked news of a controversial piece from her brand new jewelry collection…a pendant in the shape of a SINGLE LEG! Clearly at jab at Mills, who had one leg amputated below the knee in 1993, the necklace has already caught the attention of the media and Stella’s (former?) fans. No word yet on the response from Mills, but given her history, there’s no way she’s just going to let this one slide.

Emitations is all about providing affordable faux versions of celebrity jewelry, but this is one bling trend that we won’t be imitating…

UPDATE!! Reputable media sources say this is purely gossip, and no such pendant was actually created. Guess they were all just pulling our leg…

Kate Winslet’s Holiday Ready Look

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

JustJared, another one of our favorite celebrity bloggers, recently posted details on Kate Winslet’s appearance at the 16th Annual BAFTA Awards. We loved her holiday jewelry so much, we had to share the secrets for stealing her style!

kate winslet BAFTA awards diamond CZ earrings diamond CZ ring diamond CZ bracelet

Kate Winslet showed off her style at the 16th Annual British Acadamy of Film and Television Awards, held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. With the holidays so close, we have to wonder if Kate planned her “winter wonderland” attire? The dramatic halter neckline of her silver dress tied off with a bow on her left side, leaving her looking every bit like a Christmas present. A wide black belt and matching clutch were paired with the gown, but it was her jewelry selection that made her look truly enchanting.

Kate chose to skip rubies and emeralds, focusing instead on a trio of dazzling diamond pieces. Her dangling earrings peeked out from behind locks of tousled blonde hair. The daring neckline didn’t require a necklace, but Kate made up for it with plenty of “ice” on her hands! A thick diamond wedding band was on her left ring finger, and it coordinated well with the diamond cuff bracelet on her right hand.

If you’d like to steal your own holiday haute couture styles, you don’t have to wait for your award show invite. Incredible faux versions of Kate’s fashions are available at Emitations! Most of us don’t have quite the Titanic sized bank account that Winslet has earned, so these sterling silver and CZ baubles are just right for our holiday wish lists!
