Hollywood’s least trustworthy mother, Lynne Spears, is set to release her book this September. It was originally planned as a “parenting guide”, but had to be changed up after the you-know-what hit the fan for daughters Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears. Star magazine reports:

“According to the publisher Thomas Nelson — a publisher of inspirational books and Bibles — the book will take readers ‘beyond the reach of the paparazzi and outside the narrow orbit of the Hollywood glitterati to share the inside story of the Spears family-as only a mother can tell it.’

Topics she discusses include:

- Her regret in abdicating parental authority to managers, agents and record companies
- Her response to Jamie Lynn’s teen pregnancy
- The startling events that led to Britney’s meltdown and Lynne’s showdown with manager Sam Lufti”

Seems to us that this is just another way for Mama Spears to cash in on the pain and suffering that her daughters have gone through. Way to parent!

According to David Hauslaib’s Jossip, Jamie Lynn is getting speared by Star because baby pics of daughter Maddie Briann were promised to a different magazine. Here’s the cover and direct quote from Star…please note that this story may not have any basis in reality whatsoever:

“The baby’s heart rate dropped every time she tried to push,” a family insider tells Star. “They did an ultrasound and quickly discovered that the umbilical cord was too short.” But despite the doctors’ dire warnings, the 17-year-old “was adamant about having a natural delivery.”

Everyone in the room at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss., pleaded with Jamie Lynn to listen to the doctors — including big sister Britney. Brit had already been with Jamie Lynn for hours, massaging her back as she endured painful contractions. “But she got mad,” says the insider. She told Jamie Lynn to “just have a damn Caesarian,” as she did. “Britney then ran out in tears because she couldn’t bear to see what was happening.”

The girls mother, Lynne, only added to the tension. “Lynne was already angry because her daughter didn’t want her in the delivery room at all,” says the source. “But she had insisted on being there, along with Casey Aldridge, Jamie Lynn’s boyfriend. Jamie Lynn cussed and yelled at her mom, and told her to get out. She cursed Lynne for bringing her into the world to bear such pain.”

Mama Lynn Spears brokered a $1 million deal with US Weekly prior to the birth, but pics were leaked from Jamie Lynn’s Myspace page earlier this week. At this point who knows what to believe? For more details, check newsstands for the latest issue of Star magazine…

Hollywood Ecstacy reports that images of Jamie Lynn Spears’ new baby girl, Maddie Briann, were leaked from her Myspace page! The blog posted this virtual scrapbook page, along with some of Jamie-Lynn’s (supposed?) blogs and bulletins:

We have our suspicions, because there has been some debate about the spelling of the name. Some say Maddie BrIann, some say Maddie BrYann. But US magazine says Maddie Briann, so we suppose that is likely correct.

“I can’t say it was something I was planning to do right now,But now that it’s in my lap and that it’s something I have to deal with, I’m looking forward to being the best mom I can be”

On one hand, we feel bad if her personal pictures were stolen. On the other hand – once something is posted online, it’s basically fair game. It’s unfortunate that celebrities can’t use Myspace to share private photos with friends and family, but that’s how the business works these days.

Earlier this month, in fact, the Silicon Valley based blog Valleywag posted images acquired from Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan’s private Myspace albums. Apparently Yahoo’s integration with Myspace made an easy loophole that allows (allowed?) folks to use a widget to get access to any pics, even if the profile is private. There were some pretty racy pictures, but we chose not to include them!

Per JJsDirt, Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldrige welcomed a healthy newborn baby girl into the world early this morning!

UPDATE: PerezHilton reports that the baby is named Maddie Briann! The Spears’ family likes to mix and match names, but we’re not sure how they came up with this one. Maybe Casey’s parents?

Jamie Lynn was scheduled for a C-section today at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center, and big sister Britney was in town for the excitement. Supposedly the family hasn’t been together since Jamie Lynn’s baby shower last month, which OK! magazine captured in the picture below. Is Brit jealous that Jamie Lynn has a girl? Will mom-ager Lynn Spears try to direct this child into the spotlight as well? For now, we’re sure everyone is just feeling grateful and blessed for the new arrival!

“The National Enquirer (take it for what it’s worth) reports that doctors are preparing Jamie Lynn Spears for a C-section tomorrow, Thursday, due to complications in the pregnancy. An ultrasound supposedly revealed that the younger Spears’ baby may be in breech position. Jamie Lynn and baby daddy Casey reportedly plan to name their baby girl a combination of both their names – Cailynn or Cassie.”

Britney Spears was spotted taking a commercial flight from Los Angeles to Louisiana this morning. She had previously said that she would head back home once her little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was ready to give birth. Does this mean that Jamie Lynn is officially in labor? Prior speculations estimated her due date as being June 29th, and she is supposedly expecting a baby girl. Britney’s boys might be meeting their new cousin any time now!

Young Hollywood Gets Hitched – Scarlett’s Engagement Ring & More!

When 2007 ended, we thought that might see a break from all the baby bumps. We were wrong, though, and the proof is in the pregnant stars! The trend for 2008 has shown our favorite young stars in the family way. It started with Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie, who delivered in the same hospital on nearly the same day. Then came Jessica Alba, Jamie-Lynn Spears, and possibly Ashlee Simpson.With bundles of joy on the way, many of these starlets saw fit to get hitched – or at least rock some serious engagement bling.

Now, Scarlett Johansson is sporting a traditional rock on her left hand. Time will tell if this means a bun in the oven for her and Ryan Reynolds, but (despite the trend) we suspect not. Either way, we’re completely jealous of her dazzling diamond! The simple ring features a generous diamond centered on a band of classic gold. What could be better for a classic beauty like Scarlett?

Scarlett Johansson’s engagement ring, lovely as it may be, is no match (carat-wise) for the others on our list. Jessica Alba’s engagement ring has a huge cushion cut stone surrounded by pave diamonds, and Ashlee Simpson’s engagement ring sports a similar design. These girls don’t shy away from sparkle, that’s for sure!

Christina was married long before the baby, but the Christina Aguilera engagement ring features a vintage design that we’re still drooling over. Finally, we can’t forget Jamie-Lynn Spears. She’s handled media attention and family drama better than her mom and big sister, and is now aiming to settle down with hubby to be Casey. The Jamie-Lynn engagement ring is the most unique of the bunch, with a dramatic marquise cut diamond that commands attention. She’s been seen sans ring recently, but we suspect that’s just because her pregnancy made the fit a bit snug.
