On June 14, Jay Leno decided to play a little trick on America’s favorite voluptuous reality star, Kim Kardashian. Since Kris Humphries’ fairytale proposal to Kim, there’s been a lot of speculation regarding whether or not the estimated $2 million stunner is real. Jay Leno deviously decided to put this to the test by convincing Kim to light the 20.5 carat rock on fire.
The bubbly Kim showed off her new shorter locks while wearing a brightly-hued purple dress on the show, but was no longer smiles when Jay began to convince her to hand over the ring. Nervously, Kim asked if he could sign a contract that he would pay for the insurance if something happened to the jewelry.
Jay responded that if the ring did contain a real diamond, nothing would happen to it. But if the ring were to catch on fire, it was cubic zirconia. And Kris Humphries “has something to explain” to her.
Kim hesitantly handed over the ring as a gasping audience watched Jay place the ring and light it. Whether Kim’s ring is fake or not is not revealed. But Kim did tweet as soon as the show was over: “OMG u will NOT believe what Jay Leno did to my ring tonight on the show!!!! I almost cried! LOL.”

“I had been having a rough time. I’d been applying to jobs but was stuck in perpetual part time work. Twice that week friends had wind up canceling on me. I wound up spending Saturday night on the couch watching tv alone. So when on Sunday a girlfriend offered to reinstate plans I was all in for it.
