The former Material Girl, Madonna, made quite the impression at the 2009 Oscars and after parties! Some stars chose to tone down their diamonds because of the recession, but Madonna went all out with her bling. She rocked over 600 carats that night! OK! magazine reported the following details on her Academy Award jewelry…

“Reminding us all why they call her the Material Girl, OK! has learned that she showed up to last night’s Vanity Fair post-Oscar bash wearing millions of dollars worth of Neil Lane jewelry, including:

• A black and white diamond chain with 500 carats of the shiny stones
• A diamond bangle with 25 carats of diamonds and platinum
• An onyx and diamond bracelet with 50 carats of diamonds
• A pair of diamond pear shape earrings of 20 carats each
• A square diamond and onyx ring

Then for her own private party — not wanting to skimp on diamonds — Madge strapped herself into a cross and chain with 100 carats of diamonds, bracelets with 50 carats of diamonds, long diamond earrings worth 1 million dollars and a huge diamond and platinum ring.”

People had the following quote from Madonna, regarding the recent allegations of divorce and affairs:

“My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study.”

She adds, “I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously. I also appreciate how fiction and fact seem to be perceived as one and the same by people who read both newspapers and the internet.”

Meanwhile, Perez Hilton reports that the UK publication The Sun has leaked juicy details from her brother’s unauthorized tell-all biography. The book is said to include:

- Madonna’s drug use with leading showbiz executives will be unveiled.

- Christopher will tell all about Madge’s rocky marriage to Hollywood actor Sean Penn and spill the beans about her blow ups with current husband Guy Ritchie.

- Madonna flirted with pal Gwyneth Paltrow at a glamorous New Year’s party thrown by fashion designer Donatella Versace. While the two were dancing on a table at 4am, Madge grabbed Gwynnie and fully kissed her on the mouth. Partygoers watched stunned and amazed.

- Homesick Madonna is supposedly desperate to return permanently to New York. But Guy is said to want to remain in London, seeing it as a better home for their three kids.

A source tells the rag, “The book is a warts-and-all account. Chris was there for all the key moments in Madonna’s life. There is no-one better placed to tell the real story behind Madonna’s public image.”

Makes you wonder if brother Christopher had anything to do with these recent rumors…there hadn’t been too much talk about Madge recently, so maybe he was trying to drum up some publicity?

First, rumors swirled about how Madonna and hubby Guy Ritchie were getting a divorce. Then, their publicists asserted that nothing could be further from the truth. Then, new rumors popped up, about Madonna having an illicit affair with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez. Madonna and A-Rod? We never would have thought to pair those two up, although now we can call them A-Rodonna or possibly Mad-Rod. Both options are equally entertaining!

Anyway, US Weekly offered a laundry list of “evidence” that this romance was for real:

“– Rodriguez, who makes $28 million/year, has been meeting Madonna at her NYC home and would sneak out “as late as midnight.” Says the source, “All the doormen are talking.”

– Rodriguez attended Madonna’s April 30 NYC concert

– Madonna, 49, sat in Rodriguez’s seats at a Yankees game on June 22 (it was her first time getting photographed at a Yankees game).

– Rodriguez, 32, married with two young daughters, has already faced speculation about cheating: In 2007, he and a stripper were reportedly spied in Toronto, Miami and Dallas.”

That’s basically the entire case right there. Oh and also, Madonna and Guy haven’t been pictured wearing their wedding rings recently. That was solid proof of a problem for about a minute, until bloggers and gossip mags looked through their archives and realized the couple would often go out bare handed.

So the current status is…confusing. We promise to update once we figure it out though!

Word is that Guy has been spending his time in London recently, while Madonna is hanging out in New York. Not sure where the kids are, or which parent they’re with…divorces are always hard for kids, but when the proceedings are tabloid fodder – it can get ugly. Speaking of getting ugly, Perez Hilton noted that the pair has no prenuptial agreement. We smell a divorce debacle in the works…
