Everyone’s favorite party princess, Paris Hilton, recently pimped her ride for the low cost of just a few hundred thousand dollars. That’s more than most of us make in a year – or five years! – but it must just be a drop in the bucket for Ms. Hilton. She bought the Bentley in December as a Christmas present for herself, but decided it needed a punch of pink and bling to truly represent her. We could describe it, but it’s probably best if you just take a look for yourself…

The past few years have produced a crime wave that celebs don’t like – their jewelry is being stolen! It all started back in ’06, when Lindsay Lohan was at the airport. She noticed that her expensive designer purse was missing, along with all of her personal possessions. The items were worth over $1,000,000 – including (per the police) “a quantity of jewelry”. Unfortunately, Lindsay’s bad luck didn’t inspire other celebs to take extra precautions…

Near the end of 2007, reality starlet Kim Kardashian was also a victim of airport theft. Over $50,000 worth of jewelry was stolen, along with Kim’s camera and laptop computer. Apparently, the items were lifted while Kim was signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans. The crime spree didn’t end in ’07 though – it continued on through 2009!

December of ’08 was a bad month for celebrity jewelry owners, but a great month for thieves. First, Paris Hilton had over $2 million dollars of jewelry stolen from her mansion in Los Angeles. Police reports note that the theft occurred while Paris was out partying, but that doesn’t seemed to have slowed down her lifestyle much. Paris later pleaded to the public via the media, begging the intruder to return her valued possessions. As you might guess, this didn’t prove effective.

Not even two weeks later, Queen Latifah was robbed of her jewelry! Over $10,000 worth of jewelry was stolen while the Queen was staying at a luxury villa in Tobago. The accommodations alone cost $1,000 per night, so the singer/model/actress must have been out a considerable amount altogether. Local newspapers reported that two gold rings, a gold necklace, and a silver ring were among the items stolen.

Our final story of celebrity jewelry theft is particularly unfortunate. While at a show in the UK, the rapper Coolio (of former “Gangsta’s Paradise” fame) wanted to connect with the crowd. He lept into the audience, assuming they would carry him around the mosh pit. Instead, Coolio nearly crushed a girl when he fell to the ground. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the students at the show then proceeded to mob the man! Coolio’s watch, jewelry, shoes, glasses, and even bandanna were stolen that night. Luckily, security pulled him from the masses before any physical injuries occurred.

What’s the moral of this story? Celebrities and regular folks alike, lock up that jewelry! She wants to gather Hollywood’s most notorious celebs for one trash talking, attention hungry, life exploiting disaster of a reality show. If Paris had her way, she would be joined by such infamous peers as Nicole Richie, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Lindsay Lohan.

Supposedly, she was inspired by the new reality show “hits”, Living Lohan (Dina Lohan’s show) and It’s Complicated (Denise Richard’s show). We make fun of Paris pretty regularly, but we have to admit, she’s found her niche in the celebrity world. Word is this new idea of hers has already caught the eye of Bravo and Lifetime…

Would you watch it? We sure would! We propose the name “Paparazzi Princesses”!

We hesitated to comment on the newest sex tape scandal, because there’s not much that can tactfully be said. The actor who gained fame playing “Mini-Me” had an illicit video of his exploits with girlfriend Ranae Shrider, which mysteriously found its way to TMZ. Most people figured Vern himself was behind it, but Ranae (now his ex-girlfriend) is now admitting she was the one responsible. Supposedly she’s searching for the highest bidder, with the asking price set at around $25k. In this age of YouTube and zero privacy, isn’t it easy to find such material online for free? We’re certainly not interested in watching it, but those who desire that kind of show can surely locate it without paying top dollar. If you’re still not convinced that Ranae Shrider had nefarious intentions, let’s consider two additional facts:

1. She knows – and may be friends with – Paris Hilton.

2. The night she met Vern at the Playboy Mansion, she wasn’t actually trying to meet him. She had her heart set on meeting up with former 90210 star Ian Ziering.

Wow, this girl is really aiming high – no pun regarding Vern’s stature intended.

OK magazine did an interview with Vern recently that just we had to mention. It wasn’t anything he said, but rather the introductory statement provided:

“The 39-year-old actor gets around by scooter, and parks right beside me. Despite his mini-me stature, he’s wearing a men’s watch, and has a heart tattoo on his right thumb.”

What, like guys with dwarfism can’t wear grown up accessories? Should he have been wearing a Disney watch instead? Poor form OK…

Last year, Paris had big plans once she was popped from prison. But since then, charity work doesn’t seem to have been her top priority – even though she told Larry King that she wanted “to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.” It might have taken her a few months, but Paris made good!

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles reported that Paris made an “extremely generous” contribution towards the construction of the new 460,000-square-foot Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases. The specific amount wasn’t made public, but there is speculation that her donation was enough to get a wing or hall named for her. Paris was quick to alert the media about her good deeds, but we probably would do the same if our prior media hits were so tawdry. She said:

“The children I have met through my involvement with Children’s Hospital have truly touched my heart. I am proud to make a donation and lend my name to the fundraising effort to help children who are facing terribly serious illnesses.”

We LOVE when celebrities donate their time, money, and fame to worthwhile causes, so we want to give Paris a big thank you!

Jacob the Jeweler, bling source for the stars, has been sentenced to two and half years in jail. He pleaded guilty last fall to conspiracy, falsifying records, and involvement in laundering about $270 million in drug money.
