This year the remark, Happy Holidays!, seems synonymous with, Congratulations on your Engagement!  There must be something in the water because winter of 2010 has seen a huge surge in celebrity engagements.  We have counted over 15 announcements in the past 2 months!  Everyone from Prince William and Kate Middleton to the Playboy couple, Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris, has announced their very happy news.

Part of the fun of hearing engagement news, especially one between wealthy stars, is seeing what the engagement ring looks like.  An engagement ring is a beautiful outward symbol of the love and connection a couple has for each other.

Recently, Prince William proposed to longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton, with a sentimental ring.  He gave Kate the ring his mother, Princess Diana, wore.  The iconic ring features a large sapphire surrounded by a starburst of gleaming diamonds.  The stunning blue ring is a one of a kind treasure.

Reese Witherspoon is one of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses, but she has her share of problems just like the rest of us. Several years ago, her and hubby Ryan Phillipe seemed to be on top of the world. They made parenting a priority, and yet Reese still found the time to star in a string of blockbuster films. After winning an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the 2005 bio-pic Walk the Line, Reese was at an all time high. Shortly thereafter, though, Hollywood’s golden couple went through a messy divorce. Reese was conspicuously single for quite a while afterwards, but now she’s nothing but smiles when out with her new man Jake Gylenhall. He only recently got to meet the kiddies, which makes us think it’s serious!

Mariah Carey has had incredible success since first taking the mike in the early 1990s, but she was in a bit of a slump a few years back.
