The women of ABC’s daytime talk show, ‘The View‘, broadcasted ‘A Royal Wedding Special’ episode devoted to the highly anticipated wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Barbara Walters herself reported on the spectacular event live from London, while the rest of the ladies donned their own royal toppers in NYC for the fancy event. Even though movie star Goldie Hawn filled in for Babs during the special, the biggest guest star of all was the Emitations Inspired by Kate Middleton ring.
The beautiful sterling silver faux sapphire ring was one of the many princess inspired looks presented by Zanna Roberts Rossi, Senior Fashion Editor at Marie Claire Magazine. Featuring some of Kate’s most famous and glamorous looks, the gals were inspired to have a royal wedding runway show of their own. The hosts surprised the audience, and sent each woman home with her very own Inspired Kate Middleton engagement ring, courtesy of Emitations.
“Sales on Emitations.com initially spiked 400% following the announcement (of the royal engagement), and recently spiked to the highest levels since Christmas. About a 400% increase since two weeks ago, (Emitations.com owner) Mai expects this to continue for another few weeks, although perhaps not at the same rate,” says MediaPost.com.

For our loyal customers seeking royal fabulousness, many remain curious about the difference between Emitation.com’s two faux sapphire engagement rings: the Inspired by Kate Middleton Ring and the Princess Diana Inspired Ring. Although the beautiful sapphire ring currently adorning Kate Middleton’s hand was the same exact ring that Princess Diana once wore, our royal inspired rings have subtle differences.
First, there’s the price. Our Kate Middleton ring is priced significantly lower than the Princess Diana ring. Why the price gap? The difference lies in the actual metallic composition of the rings. The Kate Middleton ring is brass based silver tone, whereas the Princess Diana ring is made solely of sterling silver. Additionally, the Princess Diana ring boasts a rhodium electroplated coating, giving it a sparkly luster that is similar to platinum.
Differences aside, the two rings share the exact same dimensions, carat weight and band width, making them appear virtually identical. The two rings also have the same oval cut faux sapphire center stones in prong settings, which are surrounded by sixteen clear round cut cubic zirconias. Both rings are exceptionally stunning and we know you’ll love them as much as we do. But don’t just take our word for it, check out what customers who bought these rings had to say today! Give someone the gift of romance with our Inspired by Kate Middleton Ring and Princess Diana Inspired Ring!
The world is buzzing about Prince William’s recent engagement to his fiancé Kate Middleton. Since the news of the engagement broke, questions surfaced quickly: How did the two meet? When and how did Prince William propose? Like you, we here at Emitations can’t wait to see this fairytale romance unfold, and are happy to reveal the inside scoop!
The famed couple first met in 2001 while attending the University of Andrews. Though they lived near each other at St Salvator’s Hall of Residence, London’s favorite fashionista caught Prince William’s eye in a sheer lace black dress at a charity fashion show the next spring. The two became roommates that same year when they moved into a flat with a group of mutual friends, but didn’t become an official couple until a 2003 ski trip. It was on that trip that Prince William proclaimed that he intended to focus on his flying career (he is an RAF Search and Rescue helicopter pilot) and didn’t plan on marrying until he late twenties or early thirties.
Fast forward to February 2010: William remarks “You’ll have to wait a while yet” when asked by the media about the prospect of a royal wedding. Only a few months later, Prince William surprised Kate with a proposal during a holiday trip to a friend’s estate in Kenya. Presenting her with his mother’s ring, Kate happily accepted the famous sapphire stunner that once belonged to Princess Diana. William said that giving his bride-to-be his mother’s engagement ring is his way of, “keeping her close to it all.“
Price William and Kate Middleton are scheduled to marry at the historical Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. Once wed, Kate will be noted as the first commoner to marry into the royal family since 1660.
A Brides.com blog, Brides Daily, recently featured our Kate Middleton Inspired Engagement Ring in an article titled, “Get Kate Middleton‘s Royal Look…For Less!” The November 19, 2010 article, announced that Kate is “another style icon in the making!” Everything she has been photographed wearing has turned to gold, at least in the sense that everyone buys one for themselves. Our Inspired by Kate Middleton Engagement Ring is perfect if you are looking to steal this royal style for less! Brides.com suggests wearing the sapphire ring with the matching sapphire pendant necklace, but “unless you’re an heir to the crown, understatement is best.”
Congrats to Lydia! See a snippet of her winning entry:
“I would pick William, because he seems like such a gentleman, shy and softly spoke like his beautiful mother, whereas Harry had a bit of a wild streak a few years ago and seems more fiery! William reminds me of my boyfriend because he is so… tall, so quiet and polite, they are always the best ones!! I have loved this ring for years and would really be very grateful to be lucky enough to win it and would treat it with tender loving care for many years to come! Kate was lucky enough to find her Prince, and in William I think she has… found the best one. I was lucky enough to finally find my Prince this year too and so winning this ring would be the perfect end to the perfect year and the best start for my birthday next week!! Then myself and Kate would not only share the same birthday…but I would also have a great imitation of her beautiful engagement ring, steeped in so much love and history.”
We want to know…Who would you pick as your prince – the older son, William, or the younger redhead, Harry?

The whole world is buzzing about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement, so of course everyone tuned in for their first official interview. Tom Bradby of ITV News got the exclusive sit-down with the royal couple, and Wills spilled about how he proposed to Kate in Kenya:
“I had been carrying it around with me in my rucksack for about three weeks before that and I literally would not let it go, everywhere I went I was keeping hold of it because I knew this thing, if it disappeared I would be in a lot of trouble and because I’d planned it, it went fine. You hear a lot of horror stories about proposing and things going horribly wrong – it went really, really well and I was really pleased she said yes.”
William: It is a family ring, yes. It’s my mother’s engagement ring so I thought it was quite nice because obviously she’s not going to be around to share any of the fun and excitement of it all – this was my way of keeping her close to it all.
TB: I guess we better have a look at it. What kind of ring is it, are you an expert?
William: I’m not an expert. I’ve been reliably informed it’s a sapphire with some diamonds. I’m sure everyone recognizes it from previous times.
Miss Middleton: It’s beautiful.
TB: Kate, you’re going to be the envy of many?
Miss Middleton: Well, I just hope I look after it.
Miss Middleton: It’s very, very special.
Already there seem to be two opposing viewpoints on William giving Princess Diana’s ring to Kate Middleton. Some people feel that the ring is a bad idea, and perhaps even cursed! They note that Diana and Charles were ultimately not happy with one another, and that doesn’t bode well for the new couple. Some have mentioned that it seems disrespectful to Diana’s memory to gift her legendary ring to a new princess. Others (like us here at Team Emitations!) think it is a beautiful and sentimental gesture. Prince William could have selected a brand new engagement ring for Kate Middleton, or had Diana’s sapphire re-set. Instead, he kept the original design intact as a way of linking his new bride to his beloved mother. It brings tears to our eyes just thinking about it!
The official announcement has been made – Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged! The royal fiances made their debut at Clarence House, where Kate was photographed wearing the infamous Princess Diana engagement ring. Will we ever be able to think of it as Kate Middleton’s engagement ring? (Or more accurately, Catherine Middleton’s engagement ring, since she has decided to go by her formal name now!) Probably not, but we doubt that Kate minds much! The world is still very much in love with the legendary Princess Diana engagement ring – a stunning oval cut sapphire surrounded by diamonds. Now we can see it in action as Kate Middleton’s engagement ring from Prince William! This sentimental gift says more about welcoming her into the family then any new ring ever could. After a nearly decade long engagement and plenty of media speculation and ridicule, “Waty Katy” gets the last laugh as the newest princess-to-be with possibly the best engagement ring ever…
