My husband asked me out on Valentine’s day…the problem was that i did not like him! He was not my “cup pf Tea”…i did not find him very interesting and not good very looking either…but i did not want to offend him so i ended up accepting to go out with him for dinner with other friends…few days later i decided to give him a chance and a year later we were married and now have two beautiful kids…so, my advice is give always someone a chance because you never know…

I’ve been married for 20 years (this September) and I will never forget our 3rd Valentine’s Day together. In a conversation, I had mentioned that I needed some new floor mats for my car. So that morning, I receive a beautiful card and he tells me that my gift is on the kitchen table. I was so excited and to my surprise, on the dining room table was a set of floor mats for my car. Very practical I must say, and after I threatened to make myself a nightgown to wear that evening from those crazy floor mats, he never bought me anything practical for Valentine’s Day again. We still laugh about that holiday even after 20 years of marriage. I just have to watch what I say because I’ve learned from that day that he’s surely a good listener. I still love him so much because he always gives me anything my heart desires…. I just had to learn at a young age that you don’t talk about the things you need around a romantic holiday!

My husband asked me to marry him on Valentine’s day of last year. It was so sweet I was not looking for that but I was so happy I cried. We got married in Aug. Of last year. I am so blessed to have my husband I love him so much. And the best part is we grew up across the street from one another. We have 2 beautiful girls & 3 good looking boys.. My advice is if it is love it will be a wonderful life & never turn your back on them.

valentine’s day is also my wedding anniversary and on my 25th wedding anniversary my husband took me to a fancy place to eat, a wonderful candlelight dinner infront of a fireplace, i figured he would give my jewelry, but to my surprise he handed me a box, which i thought was a bracelet or something and it was a set of keys, he wisked me up, grabbed my hand and said lets go, we ran down the street and around the corner where his nephew was waiting with a new jeep for me, it had a huge silver bow on it, i was so surprised all i did was scream, everyone on the street just looked.
best surprise of my life.

Well, since this is “My Funny Valentine,” here is my funny story. My senior year of high school, I made my then boyfriend dinner at my house, and then we went to my school to see a play that night (Pride and Prejudice – my favorite). Well, since we had to leave, the cheesecake I made was not yet ready to eat. I wrote in his card that I would have dessert for him later – clearly talking about the Cheesecake. The next day his mom read the card and definitely took it the wrong way! I was mortified when he told me what she thought. I guess I should have thought about that before I wrote it on the card. We all definitely had a laugh about it later.
